Magnet Monday: Keep On Truckin'

Cheesy Refrigerator Magnet for Monday, November 10, 2014
"World's Largest Truckstop!" die-cut colored rubbery plastic stuff, circa 2011
In honor of the lowest gas prices in years. The Iowa 80 Truckstop is a great example of mid-America kitsch, however I've not been there myself. Yet. This magnet came via a friend who moved to Iowa with her husband after wrapping things up for her PhD.

Economists are sending mixed messages about whether these really low gas prices are good or bad in the long run. For the people I've talked to, it's good: less money into the gas tank means more money for donuts. If donuts are your thing. If not, then maybe bagels. Or deep-fried cheese curds. Mmmm.... cheese....

Magnet Monday features a selection from our semi-vast and ever growing collection of cheesy refrigerator magnets. Without doubt the perfect souvenir. Only slightly less cheesy than collecting snow globes but maybe a lot easier to smuggle in your bra. If need be. Which I hope it never is. Unless it's really worth it.
